Hi Rob. Um, my name’s Hillary, and I’m just getting, you know, a couple of things about what I’ve been up to.
Um, what was my health and fitness like before Good Nick? Um, I used to the gym quite a lot when in my 30s, but then as time goes on, you sort of stop doing it, and then 40s and 50s I didn’t do much. And then in my 60s I suddenly realized I needed to do more.
I do walk my dogs a couple of hours a day, but that wasn’t enough, and I knew I needed more. But I didn’t want to go to a gym. I didn’t want to do anything like that, and I needed to be motivated. And I then saw the advert in Facebook for Good Nick, and I did the three-day challenge, then the nine weeks, um, and then I’ve been in the Club for, this is my second year and I absolutely love it. I can’t, I can’t say anything more than that.
Um, for me, why, why Good Nick? It gave me the, the answer to what I was needing. Um, I said I didn’t want to go to a gym, but this is something I can do at home, in my own time, on whatever day I want. It motivates me. It’s 20 minutes, and who, anybody can find 20 minutes in their day. Uh, it’s just been the best thing.
Also, the Shape Up programme that I did with you was, has been a game changer, but that’s another thing.
Um, the impact of Good Nick on my life, I mean, obviously, the longer you do it, the more results you get. I’ve seen a change in my body shape, which is just what I wanted.
Um, I think I live in a three-story townhouse, so there’s a lot of stairs, and I just find everything is just so much easier.
And one particular thing I saw was, um, I have a son who lives in Dubai, and I went to visit them with his family. And a few years ago I found it hard to get up and off the floor. I’ve got two dodgy knees. Um, on the way home this time, I suddenly thought to myself, I was up and down off the floor just like the kids were. Nothing bothers me. I can do anything, because the strength that I’ve got from doing Good Nick is just holding me together. So that’s, that’s something.
Um, what would I, what else can I tell you?
Um, if somebody was young about joining, I’d obviously have to find out the reasons why they were having problems and then try and sort that if it was something that we could help with. But I think also just to explain to them that the, the benefits, I think something we don’t realize, is, well, I didn’t realize, is how important strength training is as we get older.
It’s not about racing around and just burning calories. It’s the strength that you get to keep your body working in the best possible way. And so I would, I would literally tell them all about that and maybe my story or you know that, that you can’t do too much for your own body to keep yourself going into our slightly later years um, if there’s anything else you want to know please do ask anyway hope that been enough, bye.
